- to provide an environment where pupils can practice their language
skills with each other.

- may have a good understanding of German, but their oral and written
performance needs to be improved,
- may have lived in a German-speaking country and have come to live in
London and want to keep their German language skills.

- enjoy teaching and are dedicated to the aims of the school,
- work together in a well established team,
- are supported by the Goethe Institut in London which provides
information on teaching materials, teaching methods and seminars.

- Lessons are supported with activities such as art, craft, drama and
games.
- Kindergarten (approx 3 - 5 year olds)
- Class 1 (5 - 7 years)
- Class 2 (7 - 9 years)
- Class 3 (9 - 11 years)
- Class 4 (11+ and teenagers)
- This class aims to support those taking GCSE in German, particularly if
they are preparing to take their examination early.

- Generally no more than 10 pupils.

- Deutsche Samstagsschule Ealing is a member of the Vereinigung Deutscher
Samstagsschulen or VDSS (Association of German Saturday Schools). The association occasionally organises
events, ie, October 2001, a German Puppet Theatre played in front
of an audience of children and
parents from local Saturday Schools in the Goethe Institut, South
Kensington, London.
